you love pets landlord says "they are not allowed"

If you live in a home wher the landlord to you that not pets were allowed yet someone you don't know left a kitten at your door would you take it in for keeps because its just so cute and the landlord would never know its not like he just drops by or would you just walk past it hoping somebody else would take it? Well the same thing has happened to me yet I didn't walk away I couldn't do such a thing I looked both ways didn't see an eye on me and scooped this adorable kitten up and into my apartment it went and I washed it named him keeny and then got him neutered and a full adoption  he is all mines fair and squared nothing that can be done now he's my family and is always by my side. Its been almost 9 years mr landlord know by now or he just don't care but I stil want to know what would you have done?
