I've worked the past 20 years on second shift and am currently working the overnite shift, so I would have to put myself under the classification of a nightowl.

Morning bird when I have to go somewhere that day and nightowl when I don't. Basically I have become a night owl since I work from home and finishing up my degree online.

I am a nightowl with an early bird's schedule.... I seem to do better late morning and afternoons than I do in the early morning. Unfortunately my job's hours are from 7am to 3:30pm so I have to get up before 6am to get ready for work. Actually I think my problem is more that I am really affected by the sunlight. In the summer it is much easier to get up that early since the sun is starting to come up, but in the winter I always so tired in the morning when it's still pitch black outside. I've often thought of getting one of those sun-lights that slowly increase the light until it is full strength at the time that your alarm goes off. It'd at least help with my (I'm guessing) SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder). I still like the night-life however so I don't think I'll shake off that feeling of being a night-owl!  ;D

I think I'd rather be a night owl but my body seems to wake up early every morning and I can't go back to sleep.   ???

For many years I thought of myself as a night owl, working night shift forever.  Recently, working days and off by 14:00 - feels great!

LOL - Both!  I love getting up early and sitting out on the patio with the flowers and the birds sipping my coffee.  And the house is nice and quiet - I can get things done.  I also like staying up late - house is quiet - husband sound asleep - I do a lot of my creative work then.  Fortunately 5 or 6 hours sleep is plenty.
