??? Has anyone used the solar energy? Is it functioning well? is there a big difference in your electricity monthly bill ? I've thinking about using it for my house. How much does it cost to install it ?

solar energy has become very popular and i think it will become a definitely a build for all new home in the near future.  the world is getting a little over crowded so there is a lot of energy that is being used and less produced.

I've been considering integrating a solar option into my house some day as well.  What I've been hearing is for now to keep it on the back burner.  The issue presently is the technology is still so new, you will get minimal return on your investment, unless you stay at the house you installed it in for 30-40 years.

I've been told that perhaps 5 - 10 years from now, the technology and manufacturing will improve to the point where it will be a better economical investment, where you'll recover your costs in a significantly shorter period of time (think about the prices of flat screen TVs when they first came out 10-15 years ago compared with prices and capabilities of them today).

I haven't used it yet but it does look like a good way to save on energy. I think the cost depends alot on the size of your house and how much energy you actually want to produce. I have a friend that uses it in their home. How well it works depends on a lot of things including your location.

I think it's worth it form a long term perspective - I rent and might move soon so it's not worth it right now
