Fair food

A lot of State fairs are open now.  We had our parade this morning and enjoyed all the floats, bands, and candy!  Been thinking about the fair and all the wonderful things they serve there.  So many deep fried concoctions!  Does anyone look forward to having an 'elephant ear'?  Deep fried califlower?  Doughnut sundaes?  What is your favorite fair food?

I like funnel cakes they are so addicting.  I would like to make them my own which there is a batter for it but it doesn't taste like what you would get at a fair.

Funnel cake, sausage sandwiches, apples with peanuts, and I know this is "kid like", but cotton candy!

The best fair food I ever had was a pork chop on a stick..... Only can get it once a year and i look forward to it every year along with of course some corn on the cob with butter salt and pepper!

Elephant ears and fudge. Fudge  Fudge  Fudge    Possibly it is a good thing I'm not getting to the fair this year.

I  have never heard of Elephant ears  what are they?  You  can not  go wrong with fried  apple or peach pie(or in my case both).

Ours just ended last week, Every year I MUST have a corndog Nothing compares to a fair corndog, I love funnel cakes too, but didnt have one of those this year. Everything is so expensive

Love fair food! Some of my favorites are fry bread taco, corn dog, kettle corn, deep fried vegies and haystack onions.

We like the funnel cakes the corn dogs and pork chops on a stick (giggles).

I love the funnel cakes, candy apples, and apple dumplings!  My hubby loves the funnel cakes and the cotton candy.  We like the fudge, too, when they have it.

I'm sorry that you have never had the opportunity to experience an elephant ear.  It's a giant piece of fried dough (thinner than a fry bread and much larger)  than sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar!  YUM when it's hot out of the oil

Funnel cakes are yummy.  But I feel that way about most fried food!  What toppings do you like, or is it the plain powdered sugar for you?

Can't go wrong with deep fried cauliflower!  Anybody try the deep fried stick of butter?  Not sure I could handle that one.
