Brett Favre Looked Old
« on: November 16, 2013, 06:17:54 am »
Saw a small part of an interview with Matt Lauer and Brett Favre that I think is going to air on the Today Show on NBC next Monday.

He is currently 44 years old but looked much older, maybe even close to 60 by today's age standards -- see below.  Which is hard for me to say b/c I am a Packers fan and grew up watching him all the time.

Today's age standards"
20s - ubber young
30s - the new 20s still very young
early - mid 40s still young
late 40s late young into early middle aged
early to mid 50s young middle aged
late 50s to mid 60s starting to get old
late 60s ane early 70s old but not really old yet
75  by now you are old
80s pretty darn old
90s really old

Yeah, that's why I'm not really afraid of aging.Nowadays, people are living longer.50 years ago, when you turned 40 you were middle-aged,60 a senior citizen and if you lived to be 75 you were ancient.

I was pretty shocked to have someone call me "middle aged" recently, when I'm barely out of my mid 30's! ::)

Google JediJohnnie and May the Force be with you!

Age standards have sure changed fast ... now days people in their 40s are still expected to look somewhat young.

Maybe that's why he's retired so many times...he forgets how old he really is.  ::)

He looked old the last couple of years he was still playing...The real issue he is having is some memory loss.

Your message made mee feel young again!  Thank you so very much!  I am fifty and if that is the new middle aged I can live with that!  Brett Favre is looking old but I bet that he can still toss the ball, play the pocket, scramble better than seventy five percent of the quarter backs currently playing football in the NFL. I have always been a Green Bay Packer Fan and was one of those that is still Thankful for all of the good he did for the Packers.  There are those that felt he was wrong in leaving the team the way that he did but they seem to have forgotten how much he contributed.  I really want to see Rodgers get back on the field and felt he stepped up to the plate and is giving so much to the team. A suitable replacement.

Another point in my age graphic -- my parents grandparents each have numerous siblings and their parents (my grandparents) are each near the oldest and thus each of my parents are amoung the oldest of those children -- i.e. all my granparents brother and sisters children.

My parents and several of their brothers and sisters and first cousins are mostly in their mid 50s to late 50s to early 60s.  A long while back several of my Grandmas brothers and sister who were the youngest of the bunch moved out to Arizona and had familes -- but their children are only in their early to mid 40s and the age comparion to them mostly between 40 to 45 compared to my parents and all the rest bach here in Wisconsin mostly between 53 to 60 was very stark and noticable, so yes I do not expect someone in their early to mid 40s to look so old and completly gray and worn out like Brett Favre.

That's what happens when you retire 2, 3, 4+ times.
Have a wonderful day!
