Places to eat on mothers day
« on: May 10, 2014, 04:56:40 pm »
My mom always says she doesn't care where we eat, I have no clue where to take her (I would really love to take her to a mexican restuarant, but she doesn't like mexican), so I don't know. Any suggestions?

I like seafood but don't make it at home cause no one else eats it, so I always like that when I go out. So is there something she likes but doesn't cook herself.

Hooters has free food on Mother's Day. http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2014/05/07/get-your-mom-some-hooters-this-mother-day/

This Mother’s Day, wing chain Hooters is offering moms a free meal to thank them for all that they do.

“Moms have the hardest job in the world; they’re on the clock 24/7, 365 days a year,” said Andrew Pudduck, vice president of marketing for Hooters said in a press release. “It’s about time to skip the tea sandwiches and doilies and truly thank mom for fixing boo-boos, doing endless loads of laundry and drying our tears during that last breakup.”

You've been warned: there will be scantily Hooters girls serving the men too, but who can turn away some free world famous wings?

The Mother’s Day deal includes a complimentary entrée up to $10 with any drink purchase at any U.S. Hooters location on Sunday, May 11.

To all the moms out there, no coupon is required to get a free meal but you do need to have at least one of your kids with you.

There are usually a few restaurants who do brunch buffets for Mother's Day. We've done those before and enjoyed them. Ihope you find something good. Enjoy!

Why don't you try a nice sit-down Chinese restaurant? They are usually only moderately expensive and everybody can try a little of each dish ordered. Plus all those veggies are good for you.

Eating out on Mothers  Day can be a long wait - up to an hour. The aggravation isn't worth anything.
My mom doesn't like to go out.
One year, we went out for brunch at a restaurant off the "busy path".
She didn't suggest it this year.

Even though I'm not my hubby's mother, this year he went to the local fire company and got take out turkey dinners for us. It supports the fire company and we have a nice meal.

I haven't been out to dinner in 20 years. Can't take crowds anymore and with being partially disabled now, it's hard to walk and then sit in booths or at restaurant tables. My kids were told a few years back not to do anything for me because I don't feel they should spend their money on me. They used to bring me flowers but I think it's a waste because they die, even the potted plants now die in this house. Don't know why. A card is fine with me.

I have noticed that in my city, Applebee's is pleasantly un-crowded on Mother's Day.  We got seated right away and our food came in good time.  The food was also very good.  I know other places are crowded on Mother's Day.  It may just be my home town.  Or we may just be lucky.

I would have loved to have had a steak dinner yesterday, but it's too expensive, so we had a big salad, healthier and no one had to go back out in our heat!

This year we decided to eat in.  We ate what we wanted. I had lobster ( the store steams it for us). My husband had a filet. Corn and a nice salad.

We have gone out in years past. We just could not get it together this year. The restaurants we like all require advance reservation and a deposit.
