I've been on the matching payments plan with the electric company for two years and then I've gotten on energy assistance as well because of being low-income, etc.  I'm also an apartment dweller, so other than being mindful of usage, there isn't much I can change.  I love the idea of the wood pellet stove, though, if I ever do decide to get a house....I've heard they're great!

That and we do use our old time Humphrey parlor heater.
But that raises the gas bill rather quickly.
