Late Night Snack
« on: June 09, 2014, 02:07:26 am »
Do you ever feel the need to have a late night snack?

I just finished consuming some fried mashed potatoes with tuna fish mixed in.  I love that combination.  Potatoes are a great source of potassium and we need potassium to keep our hearts strong.

What do you want when it's time for a snack?

Have a great day!

I try not to snack late at night but if I give in and do that I'm usually looking for something sweet like chocolate. Chocolate is suppose to help you sleep.

Same here....though I try to keep it really small portions if it's late at night

I seem to get hungry at night not late night but hungry all the same.I like peanut  butter sandwichs and milk or cheese and cracjkers or someting sweet like cookies. Have heard it's not good to eat before going to bed better to not be hungry when trying to sleep.

How do you fry the mashed potatoes, like you would a pancake?

I just put the mashed potatoes in a frying pan with a little bit of smart balance (omega 3 butter substitute with no trans fats) and make sure it's warm when I add the albacore tuna.  I drain the tuna before adding it and I prefer tuna rather than gravy.  I have to do gluten free so I usually avoid gravy.

I have the same snacks every night - a small bowl of popcorn while my sons and I watch tv.  Then in an hour or two we have a small ice cream cone.  Yes every night lol and I am not afraid to admit it   :peace:

If I'm really hungry I will eat what my mom gave us as kids.  Before you decide to hate it. try it first = peanut butter and mayo sandwich.  SO GOOD!
