So - I have heard of many crazy ones over the years, but the recent one with the sleeping Yankees fan definitely is up there on the list....seriously...I wonder what type of society we live in sometimes....

You've got that right. Anything to get free money. I wish people would be more concerned about real life problems. Like car accidents. Some of have to sue to get what we have lost. But there is a limit!

Yes, i saw this yesterday and thought it was ridiculous. He is in a public place, was not causing any harm to anyone else, and also the cameras are in a public place and are allowed to film whatever they want. He claimed he would not be able to find a job now as nobody would want to employ him. I would suggest that it is not that he fell asleep on camera that would be the sticking point there but more the fact that he is claiming that this little thing is preventing him from getting a job. I'd much rather employ someone who fell asleep on camera than some who is willing to sue for damages for being caught. Only my opinion.

I believe you sign all rights away of your image when you walk into a baseball stadium, they own your image to use as they see fit.

He's suing on the basis of what was said about him while using the image.  But what he said was said was lies, so it really is a strange & unfounded suit.

So many people are just out looking for a way to get rich quick at the expense of others.
Have a wonderful day!

We live in a society where everyone wants something for nothing.  Where everyone gets a trophy just for participating and if you just did not feel like getting out of bed and showing up you still get a trophy because we wouldn't want anyone to get their feelings hurt.

The only reason no one would want to hire him now is because they would be afraid of a law suit for something stupid.  And until he said that the world did not know the fat slob did not work.  Wonder how he afforded the game tickets.

As for a future job, something like that could help him get a job.  You would be surprised what will get you a little farther down the line.  Oh you were the guy who went to sleep at the Yankees game?  Ha ha must have been a really boring game.  And they will remember him.  He is worthless and just wants a fat payout.  He does not deserve 10 million dollars but they will likely pay him something just to shut him up and make him go away.

I've got to admit, if I were the Judge that this case was brought to, I would throw it out.  It's a complete waste of the court's time and resources.  A "frivolous" law suit.  Some people just live to "sue."

Some people  have nothing better to do with their time so they sue for stupid reasons.  My only thought is why do they always get away with it and end up collecting when they don't deserve to?

One of the worst ones in my book is when parents sues someone when their child gets hurt or killed because they broke into a home and got caught. Come on the thugs were doing wrong. What are we suppose to do sit back and let them steal everything we have bought and paid for and they may kill us . Give me a break. If anyone breaks in here you can bet Hubby will take care of it and them.

it is unfortunate that we live in a society that gives people who file these stupid lawsuits a platform to complain on. Each time one of these lawsuits are awarded money, it makes more people  file even more silly lawsuiits because there is that possibility that a court somewhere will side with them and award money. I always think about the hot coffee lawsuit for Mcdonalds....its coffee, its gonna be hot...why did the court award money to the guy because he tried to drink it too fast and got burnt? The steam coming off of the cup should have been a clue!! These kind of cases just make me angry!!! grr...

I read that story. It's already ridiculous to sue just because you fell asleep. He's just bringing more attention to himself. But I also read that he's suing for 10 million. Honestly, it's just insane.

if you need an attorney for a REAL issue it's almost impossible. That is why the world is so messed up.

I would never sue someone unless it was a very serious matter. It would have to be a life altering situation (death, serious injury, stealing something of value. for example)

I agree but what's even scarier is the crazy law suits that I feel shouldn't even be allowed to be brought to court many times win!!
