Ghost??

So I was at a bon fire party, and the fire was in a fire pit.  One of those heavy ones with a lid, first it started to rain but all around the fire for about ten feet each side it didn't get rain, then all of us were in the house and when the rain stopped we went back out and were just about to back to the pit.  when the lid came flying off and landed on the ground, no one was close to it and there was no wind....insane, everyone thinks its ghosts

Might have been some kind of pressure built up.

I don't think it was ghosts. That can happen when you have a fire going in a closed in type pit.

I agree, sounds like some type of combustion.  Hope everyone's alright and no one got hurt.

no one got hurt, the top just came off and landed perfectly flat on the ground, the sides have air vents all over so there should be no pressure
