How do you get rid of stress?

deep breathing and if necessary - medication

#1 get rid of the thing that is causing you to stress. 2 if you can't do #1 I suggest do some meditation or yoga they are great stress relievers. Not everything can be cured or helped by medicating, plus why fill your body with that when you can do something else. Also teas and herbs may help.

I make some quiet time with my cats. They always seem to be able to calm me down.

I find some quiet time so I can clear my thoughts or just get out of the house for a while by myself.

I live with someone that is constantly stressing me out. I often put on my headphones to calm my nerves but often times he tries to take my headphones. Other times I will go for a walk. I often find fresh air and music calms my nerves.

Listening to music is probably my favorite. Some times though I just want to lay down and look at calming pictures (I like flowers/nature scenes) or exercise. If you're particularly stressed exercise can be really good.

I dont take my own advice, but here are some productive ways to reduce stress:

-prioritize and dont procrastinate (time management)
-exercise
-rest, adequate sleep
-"me" time, hobby you enjoy
-social time with friends
-eat healthy
-learn to say no!
-keep a journal
-breathing and biofeedback

Take a nice drive and listen to your favorite music.  Or sit outside and just enjoy the weather (if it's nice out!).
