preferred shipping

I prefer UPS. They are courteous.
FedEx doesn't even knock on apartment doors anymore. If the company I purchased from happens to use them, I hear the beep of their transaction monitor. When I say, "come in" there is no response.
I open the door and there is the package.
One time, I bought a wicker  lamp stand that was sent FedEX. They set the two boxes, one on top of the other in front of my door. When I opened the door, I was surprised, of course. I called the front desk for help to get the boxes in my apartment. A neighbor came later to help me put my lamp stand together.

I support the Post Office. Most of the time they are cheaper than other services. On the receiving end, UPs is the most commonly one used. There is also FedX. But both are used by online shippers. I usually go with USPS because they are cheaper. But sometimes you have no choice on how something is shipped to you. Those are the UPS and FEDX people. BMaston12

I prefer USPS overall because of the cost. But for larger items UPS is pretty good.

When I ship things out it's through the USPS. Most of the time when I order things the carrier drops them off at the USPS. Our mailman is really good about knocking on the door to let us know there's a package.

USPS is at least cheaper and actually their delivery speed is pretty good. UPS or Fedex...  They could be quicker, but they toss packages like everyone else seemingly for me. If I had to choose between the two, I'm more likely to get the signature requirement from Fedex.

I don't think anyone actually comes to the door and waits for me to answer. I don't really mind that I hate answering the door. If it something I'm concerned about I will have it sent to my work.

I don't really care who ships it to me, but if I had to choose it would be USPS.

I really have no preference as long as the package gets there in one piece

I keep a PO box.  It's safe, secure and keeps my home address private.  I work out of my home and that's a more professional address than my apartment.  Then you have the suppliers that insist on a street address.  They defeat the purpose of my box.  What's more they tend to leave packages out front.  The suppliers agree with me that the drivers shouldn't do that with an apartment, but the drivers do it anyway.  FedEx called when he didn't get an answer and found I just didn't hear him from the back room.  Staples refuse to send things to PO boxes so they hire a local messenger service to deliver even the smallest item.  The driver couldn't find me then wound up leaving the very oversized box in front of my door so it fell over when I opened the screen to get it.  UPS seems to think the rock out front is a good place to "hide" a package.  Their 800 # people are great, but the local girl calls from an anonymous number and had a very bad attitude.  Why can't they just ship to the customer's preferred address, after all "the customer is always right."  If they remembered that they'd put a big smile on my face and hear a lot less from me.  ::) :dontknow: :angry7:
