Yes, I do also they can be helpful before a purchase since they are coming from consumers who actually used the product.

Yes, I take them into consideration.  However, it depends on how many ratings are negative or positive and the content of what they have to say.  One or two negative or positives out of, say, 20 or 30 posts which are the opposite does not sway me.  It has to be the majority of comments, backed up by what exactly the problem or problems are or aren't! I want to have some specifics, and if I rate a product (which is rare), I try to be very specific about what I found.

I read them, but I also realize that some people are just whiners and can't find anything good in their lives. I take the time to apply my own logic to what they say.

I read them, but also realize some are not truthful, there is a percentage of people who are never satisfied and will always write negative rewiews.

Sometimes I read them.  You cannot always take the review to heart because there are people who are paid to write excellent reviews.  People from the actual company who write raving reviews.  People who are just general mad at life and write a bad review.  So I take them with a grain of salt.  If all the reviews are bad it may influence me to not purchase something.  I have written good and bad reviews but always the truth based on MY experiences.

I usually do on big purchases as well.  Really don't like the thought of spending a lot of money only to find out later that the item I bought doesn't work right!
