medicare question

my husband will be 65 in a  couple of months and he is signed up for medicare and will get partA and B but there are a ton of offers for Part C .Does anyone have Part C and how much do you pay?We seen Kaiser for 81.00 a month seems to be ok .thanks for any help.

We're in the same position.  A couple of months away from hubbie's retirement and trying to figure all this stuff out.   My advice to younger folks, learn about it now.  We're not sure yet what we're going to do about all the Medicare A/B and additional coverage.

I have medicare A&B  part c I donot have  weus e my husbands insurance if you do not have a secondary insurance medicare does have some kind of insurance  or you can check any otherinsurance call medicare and ask for help

We are also in the same boat.  We are getting much closer to that age where we will have to make these decisions.  I am certain not looking forward to that.

I would go to the Medicare Plan finder if you are looking for an insurance plan that provider Medicare Part D coverage.    Medicare Parts A and B plus drug coverage.   The various plans offered in your state/county should come up in the finder    https://www.medicare.gov/find-a-plan/questions/home.aspx

You have to have Parts A & B t get other coverage. Part C is additional coverage for A and B.  Part D is for prescriptions.    If you do not have Part D right away, you will pay a penalty monthly forever.  Depending on the area you can get policies with $0.00 premium up to whatever you can afford.  AARP has some very good programs  with United Healthcare.  Bit check with whoever you already have insurance with, you may be able to just roll over to the Medicare Advantage or Supplemental plans.  You can check with your Doctor to see what program for Medicare they are in.  Not all doctors accept medicare payments.  You also need to check with a list of any prescriptions you are on to see if the Part D you choose will cover them or if you need to get another.  A lot of areas Part C and Part D can be purchased together which  makes it a little easier to have only one plan.

What good will it do for younger folks to learn about it now.  It will not be the same assuming it is even still there by the time the younger generation reaches the age to get medicare.  It is ridiculous that is is all so confusing that no one can understand it.  They do that on purpose.
