I wear both but do not pay full price for designer jeans, if I cannot find them at a consignment shop or thrift store then regular jeans serve me just fine.

I have seen regular jeans and so called designer jeans and I don't see where the fit is any better or better looking.  To pay all that money for jeans is too wild to contemplate.

Most of the time I just wear regular jeans, IF I wear any jeans at all. I'm a yoga pants, workout pants type of gal lol.

I have one pair of designer jeans that cost $100 and all the rest of my jeans are regular, wearing around the house. I only wear the expensive jeans on special occasions so as not to wear them out too quickly.
