there is a thing going around about whether they should reinstate saying the pledge of of the flag in the schools i agree they should but i do no there are a lot of people who do not so if it was up to me i would let people vote to either put it back into the schools or not but i would vote yes i am a proud american and i did it my parents did it and alot of other people born many years ago did it

I couldn't agree with you more.  The Flag represents the country.  Saying the Pledge of Allegiance in schools should be standard.  Every classroom should have an American flag in it and every kid should know the Pledge.  The problem today is that we've got a bunch of nuts who are "offended" by everything an American says or does.  My opinion on that is, there's plenty of other countries out there.  Pack your bags and get out.

Every child in this country should know and recite the Pledge of Allegiance in school. I understand the concept of freedom and not being forced to say something you don't want to, but when it comes to something that supports your country, I believe it should be enforced. If you have a problem with America, or the Pledge of Allegiance, or the word "God", do yourself a favor and find another country to call home. This country has become too lax, everything is about political correctness, and honestly, it's disgusting. It's half the reason why we are in the trouble we are in. Back in the 40s and 50s, after WW2 and during the Cold War, patriotism ran amok in the country. Crime rates were so low you could leave your windows and doors unlocked, the economy was booming, and overall, there was just a sense of security. Nowadays, there is none of that. It's a shame, because I'm only 29, yet I wished I lived back in those days, when this country wasn't a pansy and actually stood up for itself.

I think it's important for children to say the pledge of allegiance each morning in school and I also believe that "God" should be welcome in schools, as well.

I don't think it should have been stopped period.  This is our country and pledging allegiance is showing how proud we are as Americans.

it should have never stopped being said everyday in school and also if a child feels the need to pray they should be aloud to do so --if you get offended get over it --as long as you are not being forced to say the pledge then those who want to can and those who dont --dont !!!

I did not mind doing it when I was in school but I am not a morning person so when they did stop making us get up and stand I was not to broken up about it.

Most schools still say the pledge. There's only like 4 states that don't require it.

 no one should be forced to do it but it should be an option for those who still feel good about their country. those who do not pledge under the american flag should not feel ashamed or angered that their fellow student want them to be apart of something bigger than they are but rather content with witnessing a sovereign nation overcoming centuries (ya centuries) of oppression which ever nation that maybe (this is america you, know). if it is that big of a controversy then do it at home or in private.

By all means i am in agreement to be a law abiding person.But thanx and worship should be to our CREATOR for our existence......NOT a flag!

I suggest you go back in history and read about King Nebuchcadnezzar when he tried to throw 3 Christians in a firery furnace because they wouldnt bow down to his dead idols!!

When I was in school, we said the pledge every morning.  I agree with saying the pledge in school.  I think saying the pledge ought to be a standard part of the daily routine in school.

I don't think anyone should be asked to recite the pledge until they understand its' meaning. Otherwise, it's just indoctrination.
