The amount of time I spend on hold depends on the importance of the call. Most of the time if I'm on hold for 5 minutes,I'll hang up and try again later.ISometimes if it's an important call,I'll hold for 10 minutes, but that's my limit.

I totally agree. Whenever possible I try and make those calls when I am in front of a computer screen so I can get something done but it doesn't always work that way. :rainbow: :rose:

I usually give it a minute and then hang up, I'm available for a call back but not to be on hold.

Very frustrating, I also try to be at my computer so that I can put it on speaker and do other things like surveys.

I heard they say there are tons of people calling and they wait for next available person to respond to you. Well I don't mind that but sometimes the person on the other side of the line has a strong Indian accent( no offense) that it is hard for me to understand.

My Doctor's office is the worst. The voice mail takes at least ten to eleven minutes to get to an option that is helpful. The first two minutes explains where they are located and how the location just changed (over a year ago) and is only three blocks from the old location. Then comes a one minute blurb pushing their weight loss clinic. The next two minutes is directed to physicians and physician's assistants. After this comes a one minute recitation of the office hours. Next is a three minute break down of the physicians and physician's assistants-at least three of whom are no longer part of the practice. After this the listener is blessed with a one minute explanation of insurance procedures and requirements. If you wish to make an appointment at this time you are set otherwise wait another minute and you are prompted to hit "3" if you would like to start over (yeah right) or four if you would like to speak to someone.

I won't wait on hold for a very long time unless it is something really important to me.
Have a wonderful day!

It's very frustration to be put on hold for a long time. Sometimes I just hang up and call back, but most of the time I leave the phone by my side while I do things online. What's even worse is taking 10 minutes to get through all the automated rigamarole of entering numbers, selecting this or that, etc. And then the stupid system doesn't recognize what I entered, and I get so mad I yell at them. Not that it helps, but at least the computer gets all confused at the answers they can't understand, then I hang up.

Yes, too many places put you on hold. It happens too often.
