Most retail establishments have a website on their receipts.  I will generally do a review of my visits.  A lot of times you will get reward points or coupons to complete them.  I always list things that made my visit pleasant and things that hindered my visit.  Rude associates definitely gets a review from me.
Have a wonderful day!

My husband and I are very successful business owners.  On a daily basis, we pay attention to details and give ALL of our customers the attention and service they deserve.  Though we are not perfect, we do quite well.

Now that I'm the customer in this situation and I am not getting the attention that I should receive, in all likelihood I would leave everything on the belt and walk away without giving him any cash or a credit card.  The cashier can do all the ringing up he wants but if he is not doing his job properly, not necessarily perfectly but properly, I will take my business elsewhere.

By the way, management will hear from me.

You should  write a review. You have her/his name on the receipt,so they can deal with it.

Well as I said it was a few days before Christmas and I was purchasing Christmas gifts.  I live in a small town and there is no where else to shop.  And he could care less if you walk away and leave everything on the belt.

The cashier's name is NOT on the receipt.  Writing a review on some public site with their name in my opinion is wrong.  I have worked in retail before and have had people complain on me for no reason and just in general but an @--- because you do not kiss their butt.  I try to be nice and understand but this situation was ridiculous.  I did talk to a manager as well as corporate.  I do know that he was written up and I recon they got on to him pretty good.  BUT they did pull video and watched him texting.  And I am sure he done it with more than just me, my mom, and the customer in front of us.

I am 100% against the public shaming on the internet.  That is just beyond wrong.

I think this is so rude.  I would report it to his supervisor and if that did not help I would go to the store manager.  I also think it is rude to wait of someone who is on their phone and are barely able to tell you what they need.

You should call the corporate office, which you can find via a quick internet search.  Get the store number off the receipt or the address to the building and hopefully you got his name but it won't be hard to track the worker down when you give the approximate time and day of the incident.

I would talk to the management or get in touch with the corporate office. I did the latter recently and corporate called down to the store manager and the manager called me to apologize. Don't underestimate the power you have as a consumer!

It's unfortunate, but I'm not sure what I could do. I would probably try to just make conversation just to see where it leads, hoping that maybe he/she would look up and stop being distracted...

Retailers  depend on good customer service. If customers are dissatisfied they can go elsewhere. I the manager is available speak to him or her. If not call or email their corporate headquarters.
I spent 30 years in the retail business and there is no excuse for behavior like that.

I didn't say anything to him.  Depending on my mood I might say something and then walk off and get a manager.  Having the camera right above the register sure does help.  I don't think people think about how often they are videoed.
