My son got 1200 from a tax return. Good yes but his car the steering thing that lets you shift into drive,park broke. he took it to the Ford dealer to fix and it will cost him about 1200.00 . Now he has coverage for the car  a Ford escape but they don't cover this  part. We were  so angry i mean this makes the car undriveable grrr or ffffff better word . The guy at ford told him there is one part in Kansas and it will take a week to get . So if you buy a car you may not need the extra coverage they will rip you off gggg or fffff.

Yep I feel your pain.  Took my car into the local Ford dealership yesterday to have the check engine light evaluated and get an oil change & tire rotation.  Ended up needing $2300. in work.  There goes every penny of my savings plus some on my credit card - the savings was hopefully a down payment on a house.  Oh well what are you going to do - I could have not been able to come up with it.

I hope your situation is getting resolved as my saga continues.....  Picked my car up today after two days in the shop, didn't even get home before check engine light came back on............. something else entirely oh well now it does drive really smooth...........I realized it hasn't been running right for awhile.  You get used to it running bad crazy huh?

Yes you really have to watch the dealership they will try to mess over all the great customer.But its a shame what they do us hard working people who really trying to make a living just a big shame.

Sounds like you have now experienced the BS handed out by car dealers when you purchase - sadly it's one of the reasons why you need the "extended" coverage.  I know cause I've been there and done that.  Good luck to getting the repairs done - personally I wouldn't go to Ford, I'd find a mechanic who could do it for less.

He's biting the bullet and getting it fixed. My daughters husband had the same problem he had a Ford also. So stay away from Fords.

I never buy extra coverage on anything.  I think sometimes it is just a way to get extra money from you because you usually don't have a problem until the extra coverage runs out

I've had issue's in the past over car repairs that have cost less because I take my vehicle to more than one place! Hope he can get it fixed!

I love my Ford Escape, even though it is now a piece of junk! Until the last year, it was very reliable, but because of all the salt they put on the roads here, it is rusting out, and all the parts are getting corroded, so I've been having a lot of repairs lately. But I am looking at getting another Ford Escape if possible to replace this one. Any vehicle can have problems, it's not just Ford.

Just had mine fixed also we did it our self instead of the 600 at the car place.
