I'm turning into a cat lady.
« on: March 04, 2017, 05:01:52 pm »
We have our one indoor cat. Then a white cat showed up so sweet and lovable so we have 2. Now a orange and white cat that looks like the white one is coming around and is sweet also.Other neighbor cats come around looking for food which i give sometimes can't feed all the cats. Now if one of these sweet cats end up pregnant well kittens noooo trouble. My son seen a  bunch of cats in our neighborhood a few houses down maybe they belong there and just step out for a little attention. Our cat is fixed . and doesn't get along with the white cat,i tell her she is the queen but she doesn't understand me.

Aww, so nice of you to take care of all those cats.  My sister tried feeding some of the stray cats in her backyard and ended up with raccoons!
Remember to give your cat lots of love so she doesn't get too jealous ;)

Cats are so cute and irresistible! I would find it very hard to turn away a stray cat, or cats.

While I am not a serious fan of cats, I can never turn a blind eye to an animal that requires assistance. I am glad to learn that there are people out there that have a genuine concern for our furry companions. :-)

LOL, I know... once you have animals it is hard to stop.. especially if you really love them.... when I was younger I ended up with 3 cat, 4 ferrets AND a dog... I don't even know how.... :)))))))

Animals give you so much, but if you don't have a big enough house... than it can be a problem too. It takes also some extra effort to keep the house clean.

When I moved to the house I'm in, there was/is  a small kitty that lives in the neighborhood it was winter and I felt bad so out i went to get a sack of cat chow. I started feeding her out on my deck so I could see her and keep a eye on her, she's pretty wild. Come spring she showed up with her 4 kids who were so wild if  I got out of my chair to peek they were history. Soon after I think she brought the dad meaning OH NO another batch in the works, Then uncles and cousins came, what started out to be one tiny kitty hanging out under my deck turned into a clan of cats lounging in the sun bringing their friends to the party.  AS much as I love animals I'm pretty sure I'm adding to the problem because our county has no shelter and I can't afford to get them fixed.

I love cats but I am allergic so I'm confident I will never become the "cat lady". But then again I guess I could take allergy shots lol

We used to have a lot of cats, we live in the country. They were all feral cats, I had a real good Vet who would fix them for about half of what it cost. That was almost 40 years ago. Know I think their may be 2 around.

Funny you say this, because the guy living 2 houses from me has the whole group hanging out when he comes home, he works on the road and can be gone for a week at a time. I see his truck turn down the hill to here and its a hoot they are all running after that big black truck like a goofy ad on tv for cat chow!!

ha ha   at one time we had 5 cats,,,  2 inside and 3 outside ( that would have loved to come inside)  They would just show up at our house and just stay.   had one pass away and the next morning a kitten was sitting at our front door waiting to come in.  now we only have 1 cat left he is inside.  this is our last cat.   ( ha ha)  other half wants a dog.  i'm not crazy about dogs,,  to much you have to do with them,   cats take care jof them selves  :)

HAHA I know what you mean - I have two indoor cats, both males, ,but there is a little "lady" cat that comes by for food when she's hungry and I happily feed her but she doesn't like my "guys"!!!

Reminds me of how my family came to own a cat when I was growing up. This orange tabby shows up in the neighborhood and we started feeding it, but didn't let it in since a few family members have cat allergies. Well, that changed when this cat got in a fight with another cat and lost the fight. He decided that the best place to die was underneath the window overhang in our front yard. My mom took pity on the cat, took him to a vet, and 200 and some dollars later we had adopted a stray cat.

I just feed a cat that lost its way. I think she walked the fence until she didn't realize how far she was. And the rule is don't feed outside cats or they are yours. But, I think this cat was lost for about 2 days, and no food, she was hungry and was getting along with my cat, JC gets to go out in the backyard on a leash. I decided to feed her just so she can get the strength to go find her way back home, no cat the next day. Thanks for giving your cats love.
