Garage Sales and Thrift Stores
« on: April 01, 2017, 12:55:16 pm »
Do you ever stop at these, and if so have you every found a true treasure?  We have the 100 mile garage sale that goes on the first weekend in May and our town is packed with people hunting for stuff...  they come from all over and bring big trailers. It's non stop sales, one street who also says they have the best x-mas light show is wall to wall people for 20 or more blocks.

Yes, I love Thrift store shopping, I have found some good deals, have not done much garage sales generally when I see sign posted in the community for an upcoming one, the day of is actually hard to find parking, so most times I just keep driving.

I use to set up at flea markets and did that for years.  I started out getting things to buy at yard sales.  Then I found towels by the pound and reworked them during week and go sell them on the weekend.  They finally sending the seconds towels over seas and it broke my heart.  I made good money on them.  Hope everyone has a good day and may God bless each of you and keep you safe. :)

I used to do the garage sales alot more than I do now.  (There was a pantsuit that I had wanted, it was $80 new, so I waited on ordering it.  Found it at a yard sale, like new & in the right size for $4.)

I used to buy & sell at a flea market in the past.  I've been shopping the thrift stores for years too--- all three are great for finding items cheap that can be re-purposed into something else, which saves a ton of money over buying new.  I also always have cats/dog(s) so I get items for the house which don't cost much, so the house is always "pet-friendly" .

I do like to browse through Thrift Stores, but haven't really purchased anything that was a real treasure.  I haven't shopped at a Garage Sale in a long time.  We also have the 100 mile yard sale.

I like going to flea markets and selling. I look it as a form of recycling. Getting rid of things I do not want but they don't go to a land fill. I don't make a lot of money but usually enough for a night out for dinner.

I don't go to them but every September we do hold one.  The village where we live allows everyone to hold it without a permit.
