start Christmas shopping?I want to avoid the crazyness of online and in store shopping so maybe get a few things. Will feel good if i have a  couple things put away and alot of time to look.

I guess it is to start shopping for Christmas.  Buy some every week or month, that way won't be so hard on the old pocket book in December.

Not really. Some Christmas items are available in stores where I live. I think it is better this way than to wait until November or December.

Well it depends on you, your family, and your situation.  It is none of any one's business when you start Christmas shopping.  But in my world 6 months before Christmas is way too early.  People will either already have the item by Christmas or if it doesn't work you are just stuck with it because no store will take it back 6 months later.

I think it's too early, but that's just for me. If you like to shop early, then by all means go for it.

I know lots of people who like to shop early. I can't get in the mood until closer to the big day.

Plus, I REALLY hate to shop the day after Thanksgiving! Ooh boy!!!

Not to early many stores had 4th of July sales already.  Guess it depends on what you are buying and what the return policy is just in case someone wants to return something.

I would think it is tough to shop for someone this far ahead unless you know the person very well. I mean sometimes a person's interests and taste change over time. Also, what if you got the person a gift that he/she did not have but then find out later on that person purchase it for himself/herself.

I don't think there's anything wrong with it. I think it will make things less stressful when the shopping season actually starts. My aunt will pick up things throughout the year for Christmas.

For me... wayyy too early...  I like to think that it is still summer and... before I get to Xmas things I usually by some silly things for Halloween... for the kids or home decor.
Of course if you have specific things in mind that you want to gift for xmas.. and you see good prices now...why wait? Could be cheaper now than waiting last minute.
