Yep it doesn't really make sense, and I am sure it wasn't that way when I first added my banner way back when. I had never had a problem with it, but it recently disappeared for no apparent reason and when I tried to fix it, because I had clicked on save, it wouldn't work. Luckily someone helped me out here in the forum on how to do it correctly.
