when a neighbor tells you "if you need anything, let me know." it makes you feel welcome.

Yes, I'm all about a new neighbor being really neighborly. I used to have a neighbor that I'd have coffee and muffins with once a week, every week. It was really great! But she moved away years ago and I haven't seen her since. We've also got a neighbor right next door who we're friendly with. Not coffee and muffins friendly, but we've got each others backs in times of emergency.

We in our neighborhood all look after each other. We let each other know when we are going to be gone, and one or the other always picks up the mail while one of us is gone, I have the keys to 3 of those incase  we need to get in to their house. I have the phone numbers for 3 of them and  their families incase I need to call them for emergencies . and they have y keys and phone numbers. I have always been lucky to have  great neighbors. Kindness does go a long ways, just wish it was world wide.

Being neighborly is a good thing. When we had a house fire a neighbor I didn't even know put me in her car to warm up (mid-Feb and freeezing) and offered her home to us.  I appreciated that so much!

It is good to have a neighbor like that but it is even better to be a neighbor like that.

I feel that way too. Some people find it a bit too much to let some body know that though. Neighbors are nice to have when you can help each other in certain circumstances!!!!!   :) :) :) :) :)

I have a really good neighbor. It is nice when you know you have someone to count on that is near by. We help each other out and it makes both of our lives a little easier.

It does feel good to hearing those words. This is worth passing on to someone, because we never know when someone needs help.

Yes. Basic kindness and compassion are important loving qualities that help preserve our planet to continue thriving. Without them, we would become extinct long ago. :peace:

It's nice when neighbors try to get to know each other. I try to respect people's privacy, but I'm grateful to have a couple of neighbors I am friendly with as well. It does indeed make you feel more welcome.

True, so it's nice to be welcomed in a new neighborhood.
