I love to give hugs when I visit people who are very close to me. It's the loving way to say hi. :)

When I meet close friends and family, I like to give a big smile and a hug and a friendly "Hi".
Why?  Because I love them

For the two grand-daughters out of state, and a great-grandson....texts, calls, and little notes in the mail.

Happy to get them all.

Hi or hello for strangers - I'm required to acknowledge people at work.  My son also works for the same company and when we go to other stores, Dr.'s offices, restaurants he says hello to everyone as if he's still punched in at work.  I've recently clued into how my face responds to strangers vs. people I know on a personal level.  I've begun to practice my "genuine" smile on everyone.

I greet people different from the first time meeting or many time's later. The first hi would be either a hi, a quick hand shake cause we just met. People that I know I might just say hi to be nice, and maybe a quick how have you been? Other wise it changes with the situation!     :) :) :) :) :) :)

Good morning/afternoon/evening because I think it's the most polite and professional.
