Been there, done that...worked the same place for 15 yrs and they shut down and moved.
I've quit like 6 jobs in the last 5 yrs....tired of snotty bosses...must be getting old and cranky.

The job I was at for 15 yrs treated me like crap but made decent money...lots of OT (whether you wanted it or not) and was only 2 miles from home.
There are jobs out there...not the best but better than nothing....good luck to ya...

Good luck. I hope you found something better. What are you going to do?

I quit a job in '88 to become self-employed. My husband still reminds me it was the best place I ever worked. The boss gave US gifts for Christmas and the Christmas party meals were lobster and steak. i loved the job I did, too. Free health care, profit sharing, etc. I just got bored doing the same thing day after day (inventory control).  I did go back to help set up a new inventory control program and they offered me a job, but not in IC. It was in accounting. I took it because it was a $2 raise with a raise every year BUT they just kept piling more jobs on me, like taking care of the taxes, trucking end of it, etc. I was under such stress but stayed.  I was waiting for the IC job to open because I heard the girl I trained was going to leave soon. She had told me she would only stay for 2 years. Finally, one day I overhead two of the girls really cut me down (backstabbing was a problem there) and i flipped out, went into the supervisor's office and gave notice.  They sold out to a rubber/plastic manufacturer about 10 years ago and I knew it would be the end of the company, which was so sad. It was the stress that made me make that rash decision. I did regret it but my blood pressure went back to normal.

Good luck to you finding a new job.  I used to stay in jobs where I was treated like crap because I wanted to build toward my retirement and had to support my kids.

Remember the old country song "Take this job and shove it."

Good luck. I've worked for the same company for about 10 years. Not leaving unless they fire me. Frankly, I don't think I'd be able to get another job if push came to shove. Jobs are very hard to come by these days.

Well, you didn't state what circumstances led to it and that is your business.  However, there must have been things going on that drove you to it.  Hopefully, if you are in need of another one badly, it will come along soon.  Remember, if you really need work, take something...anything...and you can always keep applying. If you need to pay rent, something is way better than nothing! Don't wait until unemployment is running out.  I know several people who did that and it did not go well.
