Plastic or No plastic?
« on: July 13, 2018, 07:25:38 pm »
Normally when I go into a store into the home aisle where they store household items I always notice the household pillows are just stacked on the shelf without any covering. There are bed pillows that are in plastic, but the other type of pillows and back rest pillows just sit bare on the shelf. Should the other household pillows have a covering or is it acceptable just sitting on shelf? I think about bugs, germs and dust without it being covered up.

Pillows should be in plastics, anything that you will be putting your head on.

Never thought about that but then I don't buy those types of pillows anyway.

Oh... good question!
I have purchased body pillows from SamsClub & Costco without them being in plastic & the same with household pillows; I personally think that is fine, just pat them to fluff them up & good to go... for a head pillow though, I don't think I would purchase without it being in some sort of plastic case. Even though we put pillow cases on them prior to use, just the thought that someone else head, with all it's hair products & potentially lice... have been on it.   disgusting.

What is the difference between  buying a decorative pillow and  going in and trying on clothes and shoes. I have more of a problem there then the pillow. That is why I buy  most of my clothes on line and they come in plastic containers. After working in a retail store that had a catalog center I quit buying off the floor. you would be surprised how dirty some of the clothes  are that are returned.

I totally agree, I think they should be in something. I wouldn't buy a pillow if it didn't come in a plastic bag that is for sure.

I only care if there is plastic on a pillow I intend to sleep on.

I never really thought about it, but you do have a point. They really should put them in plastic.

I guess "throw" or "decorative" pillows are really meant to be decoration and not actually a pillow.  The only one that uses the ones on my couch as a pillow is the cat lol

Never thought about it but now that you mention it all pillows should be in plastic.  Some people use decorator pillows for their head when they lay on a couch
