Let's make this quick and easy.  If you like Trump or are a strong Republican = you think he did a fine job last night.  If you hate Trump or are a strong Democrat = you think he was awful last night.  There is no middle ground and no objectivity.

i fully agree with you, countrygirl12. That's part of the problem. They don't like personality so they won't try to like anything he does and that's sad.  I'm not crazy about the way he speaks but it comes from his heart. He's very outspoken and no polished politician.  I also wish he'd stay off Twitter or just stick to a subject and not get into arguments with trash people like Griffin, Behar, etc.

His mouth has no filter. lol  And he does not coddle.  He says what he thinks. I have said a few things in my lifetime and immediately been like "oh sorry I meant to just think that" lol.

I do agree he needs to stay off Twitter.  BUT you cannot believe everything CNN says he says on Twitter nor the edited tweets they post on their site.  There have been a few that what they said he said and what he said was not the same thing.  I follow him on Twitter so I see it first hand.

But you are right. People are so full of hate for him and the Republican party in general they do not even listen to what they are saying.  They are already stubbed up ready to fight and disagree.  If in his speech he had agreed to give every American citizen $10,000 with their tax returns this year there are people who would be screaming no because they are too stubborn to actually listen to what he is saying and realize it would benefit them.  smh

It is like the meme that says "At this point if Trump came out in favor of oxygen the democrats would suffocate themselves."  lol

Well I watched it and thought he gave a  very good  speech.  He is trying unity in our country and the democrats  were so  nasty.  Even if  some of them thought it was for the good of our country they knew they were being watched  by the  nasty queen of the house and are afraid of her. I am all for him. And yes if Clinton or Obama were to have given the same speech they would have been all over for them.

Started to watch it but got bored.  Same old stuff that all presidents say to get people on their side.  As parents always taught me actions speak louder than words.

True..it has always been this way.  But I have never seen the hate for others who are not the same as you that this president has brought out.

I felt President Trump delivered on all the issues (though one source noted no mention of global warming).  The speech had moments of inspiration, heartfelt emotion, recognition of others that Americans could relate to as well as walking the talk that got him elected.  It seemed long at about 80 minutes, but he stayed on point for the most part.
