Do Puppies grieve?

We have had our puppy for 4 days now. She is only 2 months old and the breeder did a GREAT job on paper training her she goes either on the paper of runs to the back door. After she eats and plays and does her duties we wouldn't even know there was a dog in the house for hours. As I am writing this she is sound asleep. I just wonder if her little mind is thinking of her Mommy and Sisters she left behind

I doubt it.  Puppies sleep a lot.  But to answer your question yes animals grieve.  The puppy could be a little upset because of being taken away from brothers and sisters and mommy.  I had a cat die (I had 2 and the one that was left def grieved).

I have often wondered about when babies are taken from the mommy.  I know sometimes they will look for them.  I never need an animal to have babies.  I would do like my neighbor done and keep them all. lol

I do think animals grieve and it is possible puppies grieve as I think dogs do more than most animals.

Yes I believe all animals can grieve.  Your puppy probably missed her mommy and brothers and sisters.  In time she/he will forget them and you will become mommy 🐾

I believe they grieve. I had an old dog pass and they others looked for him for a few hours but then went on as nothing happened.

I believe dogs feel all the same emotions we do.  Even if puppy isn't grief stricken there's a transition period where they miss mommy and siblings.  If I adopt puppies or kittens now....I want 2 of them because they interact with each other and bond with each other in a very important way. 

Some people never think twice about the emotional well being of pets.

There are 7 stages of grief.  I believe dogs are confused... a little lost when one of the members of there pack is gone.  Or they (a member of the pack) are removed.  But through transition I don't think a dog goes through shock, denial, pain, guilt, anger etc.  Confusion yes.. grief.  Not so much.

Yes I do think all animals grieve.  I think they feel all emotions we do.

yes for sure they grieve, tho Im not sure young animals such as puppies or kittens. When my cat passed away last year, my two dogs who were just puppies when I got them, my cat was an adult already, so they grew up with her, they looked for her for 2 months afterwards. Didnt want to play ball, and moped around the house, the dogs were inseparable, laying as close as possible together, always looking for kitty, they would jump in they hear a noise, thinking it was her

No Elephants do the most.  They have proven this with studies they have done.

I watch a lot of animal programs and I've heard that said before.

I am sure what animals do. Except the ones that eat their young! Lol

I truly believe that they feel things, maybe not just like us, but in their own special way. If not, why do they get so excited to see us and when we leave they mope around the house.  I love my fur babies! ♥
