Puzzling?
« on: August 05, 2020, 04:29:33 pm »
Has anyone else taken up the ancient art of jigsaw puzzles during this time of COVID madness?

We started out with a 500 piece, then a 750 piece and now we're working on a 1,000 piece which is making me insane. Next puzzle will be far fewer pieces because I value my sanity and need to have some daily successes.

I started doing them.  Because in the beginning we were ordered to stay in and nothing was open I started doing them online.  I got hooked and still do them on line.

My husband and I have always done 1000 piece puzzles in the winter time. But although he is still working now, we still did a couple this spring during Covid. We really enjoy them. Sometimes we do 500 or 750, but mostly 1000 piece. We have a sister at church that gets them through a subscription and passes them on to us.

I have lots of puzzles but no time.  I worked through the lockdown.  Not working now but we moved so often, being homeless trying to find a permanent place.  Now the apartment we have is so small, there's no room on a flat surface to do the puzzles.

I've always enjoyed jigsaw puzzles but I do not have much room or enough light to do them in my apartment   but I do do them online. :)

My friend let me borrow a 500 piece puzzle a few weeks ago but I haven't started on it yet. Puzzles are fun!
Opinion: 1) a view, judgment, or appraisal formed in the mind about a particular matter 2) belief stronger than impression and less strong than positive knowledge
This is the internet, learn to let people have opinions. And don't be so sensitive.  8)

I do the 6 to 10 piece ones with my granddaughter once in a while. I would rather do surveys than the 1,000 piece ones, even if I only get a DQ penny in place of nothing but satisfaction for finding a piece a home.

My husband and I love puzzles!!  We typically work on the 1000 piece puzzles.  Puzzles can be fairly expensive (especially if you do one every week or so) so I like to buy my puzzles from Goodwill or second hand stores.  Sometimes there may be a piece missing, but generally they usually include all the pieces.  When we finish a puzzle, we either pass it off to another puzzle person or donate it back to Goodwill.

I used to really like the 'Great American Puzzle Factory' puzzles.  They were my favorites.

I've heard a lot of people have been doing jigsaw puzzles. Unfortunately, I don't have any, and even if I did, I'm pretty sure my cat would jump on the table and swat all the pieces onto the floor.  :)

Look up "Great American Puzzle Factory" on your search engine or ebay.....they have some nice ones.

LOL.  My cat did that once.  I was almost done too.
