Some people make more working on their own, by themselves.
For them, minimum wage does not affect them because they do not
have an employer.

Our minimum wage went up at the beginning of september. it went from $11-12. per hour. It is scheduled to go up 3 more times in the next 3 years topping out at $15. per hour by 2023.  That is gonna be a big rise  and people need it these days.
I completely agree with you countrygirl12. What I find sad is people on Social security, like my parents who are in their 80's. They still have to live on what they are making and then they will get about a 2% raise yet everything they have to pay for goes up about 15-20%.

It won't make any difference.  The price of everything you purchase goes up so then you are not really making any more money. People are too stupid to grasp that.  I remember when min wage was $5.25 and milk was a little over $1 a gallon.  Now min wage is $7.25 and most places are paying at least $10 some (at least in my area still pay $7.25) and milk is around $5 a gallon.  So yes your paycheck is a larger amount but you pay more for everything you buy.

I think all the workers who worked during the pandemic should have gotten permanent raises.

The cost of living is going up. I think people are going to need this to pay their bills such as their rent.

Try living in a state that goes by the Federal which is $7.25 and then they only want to hire for part time so they do not have to offer any benefits.  If the common pay starting wage in your area is $16 then you don't have anything to complain about.
