My mom said that it was highly recommended to her. She does need to wait 14 days after her last COVID shot before getting this one. I think it's a great idea as I heard the new one is improved from prior versions.

My health care professional wants me to take this shot, but hasn't given it to me yet.  I have had the flu shot, pneumonia shot and both covid shots.  I go to her next week.  Will see then if she wants me to take the shingles shot.

There is no age on getting the shingles.  My sister got it and was in her 30’s.  It’s a virus and very very painful.  They now have a shot you can take if you get to the doctor within a certain time limit.  The shot was not available for her.  I remember they were around her hips, they attack the nerves.  She said it was very painful and very very itchy.  When the blisters ( which were all over her hips) started to open she started wearing her husbands undershirts so it wouldn’t stain her clothing.  I think he lost about 10 shirts because of that.  She got pain pills and was told to take oatmeal baths.  It took some  time before she was better.

I've had my flu shot, but not a shot for shingles.  Is It painful for everybody?

I have not but heard shingles themselves are very painful so it might be worth getting.

I haven't yet, but have already been planning since about this time last year to get it sometime this summer. Even though it can strike at an earlier age, they recommend it for most people around the age of 50 - which I just hit about 2 months ago.

I wanted to wait until after I finished up my two rounds of the COVID vaccine and to get past a few late spring/early summer events before getting it. My wife got the shingles shot about a year ago and it made her pretty sick for a few days afterward. I am hoping for just a sore arm, but want to be ready to be out of commission just in case.

I heard that if you didn't have Chickenpox as a kid, you probably won't get Shingles, but my doctor said a lot of people had Chickenpox and never know it. He said he is going to give me a test to see if I should vet vaccinated for Shingles. I have known some older folks that had it and I would just as soon not add to that list.

I just got my second does of the shingles vaccine about 2 weeks ago. Just a tiny bit of arm pain and about a half a day of feeling a bit sluggish. But no real side effects.

When I was a kid I thought shingles is when you shake when you walk.  I had chicken pox when I was 8 years old I remember it clearly.  I'm not sure if I will get the shot.  I don't know anyone who had had it.
