Am I being mean?
« on: May 02, 2022, 05:59:25 am »
My son got us a puppy almost 3 years ago now. My BF retired and so my son thought it would be a good idea to get the puppy to keep my BF off the couch so much. My BF had a stroke a month ago and is in rehab now and he was the one who always took our dog for a walk. I tried a couple of times walking her but it seems like she is walking me more because she drags me. Me being 65 is having a hard time walking Sasha so I just take her out in the yard and play with her out there. Is it that awful of me not to take her for walks? :( I cant afford to pay someone what do I do?

I don't think that's mean at all. I thought that was thoughtful.

Playing with her in the yard is not so bad.Maybe you can train her not to walk so fast or hard as well in the yard.Dogs respond to simple kind commands.

How big is she?Reward her when she listens.

Dogs need to be trained how to walk properly on a leash. You can find lots of info and videos online.

She is a medium size Mexican coated with a mind of her own. So many tried to help me but she still pulls and is very strong. Neighbors have tried to walk her but find it difficult

I don't think this is mean.  You are taking her in the yard and playing with her so she is getting exercise.  I don't have a dog, I have a cat so I don't have to walk the cat.

No, she's getting exercised and she knows you love her.

Of course you're not being mean. They don't care where you pay attention to them.

I've been depressed for a long time and didn't know how to deal with it. Until my friend advised me the site https://westcoastsupply.cc/products/edibles/, where I ordered cannabis products that helped me get out of depression. It's great to try something new, especially something that can help our body.

We had farm dogs. There were never walked, but had the whole yard/farm to play on. Not mean at all. Attention is attention no matter where it is.

We had a dog years ago my son took him for walks but it was hard to get him to do that. Our dog was fine just playing in the back yard. So its fine if you cant walk your dog.

Thank you all for your feed back. We have a neighbor who keeps calling animal control on us for her barking in the yard. We sent our dog to Maine to go live with my daughter and her family :( A new neighbor on the other side of us just moved in and now he has a dog. I hope his dog is a barker just to pi&& her off. I'm sorry but I cant stand people who calls on you because your dog might bark 3 times in the middle of the day. YET here is our neighbor who walks around her house naked for all to see GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR....put curtains or blinds up DAM !!

My bf's dog used to pull.  He could handle her but I had a hard time when I tried.  We got a harness type leash that stops the pulling.  You could try that.

I think that is nice of you to take the dog out period.
