Is Daylight Saving Time becoming permanent

Nov 6, 2022  DST Daylight Savings Time returns   8)    Fall back.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/health/wellness/when-do-we-turn-our-clocks-back-for-daylight-saving-time/ar-AA12DBth?cvid=491b573dfa284e26b897b9d70007fcaf

Is Daylight Saving Time becoming permanent?

In recent news, the Sunshine Protection Act was proposed as a United States federal law that would make Daylight Saving Time permanent, meaning no more changing the clocks twice a year!

On March 15, 2022, the U.S. Senate passed the bill unanimously. Currently, it still needs to be discussed by U.S. House of Representatives before it can be signed into law by the President. If the bill were to pass in the next year, permanent Daylight Saving Time would take effect on November 5, 2023.

Love it or hate it, most of us have learned to live with switching our clocks twice a year. Arizona and Hawaii don't observe daylight saving time, but hey, they get lots of sunlight anyway!

So if this passes, does that mean that AZ and HI would have to do a one time hour shift to sync up with the rest of the country for uniformity's sake? Or would they stay offset? (Unless I am confused here and they are already on the hour that everyone else would be permanently switching to.)

They need to go back to Standard Time and keep it there. I like Standard time the best. It is not manmade time like Daylight Savings Time. I do not like it getting Dark so late.

At least we aren't China where the whole country is one time zone even though it is more than large enough to be in 3 or 4 time zones.

They keep saying this is going to be permanent, but I don't know when it will go into effect.   I would prefer always DST, but whatever not changing times would be nice.

I guess Daylight Savings Time has its advantages.  I like having more sunshine in the Summer because it gives families more time to be together.
