On myself I prefer long hair.  My hair is a little past my shoulder and I don't consider it long but I'm trying to grow it long.  I only had my hair cut short once (some of it ear length).

I have long hair and two of my daughters do also!  My smallest daughter WOULD have, but she decided to cut her hair herself!!! 
It was a sad day...  ... but she really looks super cute

I would much rather pick short hair. It's so much easier to care for and less time to groom. Currently I do not have the time to put a lot of care into my long hair. It's too time-consuming. Ugh...    The afro look would look funky. Hahaha!

I like having short hair, it's easier to take care of and I can do a lot of fun things with it. I keep saying that I'm going to let it grow long but I never do. I always end up getting it cut. In fact I think I'm going to go in soon to get a cute inverted bob.

I've had short hair once in my life and I hated it.  It was a pain to do every day.  It wasn't easy at all and the frustrating thing was that I couldn't just put it in a ponytail.  Since then, I have always had long hair and I probably always will.
