Choosing the best buhurt weapons for tournaments
« on: October 16, 2025, 02:54:53 am »
I’ve been competing for a few years now and I think it’s finally time to replace my old set of gear. Most of it’s still fine, but the weapons are starting to show their age. The blade edges have dulled unevenly, and the handle grip feels too loose after long fights. I’ve seen newer models with better balance and safer blunt edges, but I’m unsure what works best for both duels and team battles. Since I usually fight with a mix of swords and maces, I want something versatile that won’t feel awkward to switch between. Anyone tested good options recently?

I’ve gone through the same thing not long ago. I switched to buhurt weapons designed specifically for armored combat, and the difference was huge. They’re all blunted for safety, but the quality and balance are still great for real tournaments. I like that you can pick from maces, axes, and swords depending on your fighting style. Some sets even come as bundles, so you get matching weapons for training and competition. I’ve been using a mace and longsword combo for a few months, and they hold up really well even after intense sparring sessions.

The mix of different weapons always seems to bring out the best in training. Changing from a sword to a mace or axe helps improve coordination and strength. It’s interesting how every weapon type teaches you a different rhythm and way of defending. Finding gear that’s reliable for both practice and competition definitely saves a lot of time and energy in the long run.
