Clean install, activation disappeared

I performed a clean install to remove bloatware and now Windows won’t activate even though it was activated before. I used the same Microsoft account and signed into the machine during setup. The activation troubleshooter suggests contacting support but I’d prefer self-service first. I also still have the old system image saved on an external disk.
