How to order a mural if you live abroad?
« on: December 01, 2025, 04:17:31 pm »
Honestly, something’s been on my mind lately. A couple of months ago I visited my cousin in Poland, and she had this beautiful mural in her living room — super detailed, very calm vibes. And she told me she ordered it from artists who weren’t even based in her country. That really surprised me, because I always thought murals needed tons of in-person meetings and back-and-forth. Now I’m living abroad too, and I keep thinking it would be amazing to bring a little piece of home into my apartment through a custom mural. But I have no clue how realistic the whole process is when you’re far away. Like, can you really coordinate everything smoothly just online? How do people handle the idea stage, approvals, and the final execution?

From what I’ve seen, it’s absolutely doable, and honestly way easier nowadays than most people expect. A lot of artistic wall painting experts work remotely on the concept first, using sketches, video calls, mood boards, all that. When I helped my friend get a mural for his café, the team created a full visual draft before even stepping foot in the country. If you want a clearer idea of how the workflow usually looks, you can check out feelflow.space
 — it explains the steps pretty well, and it helped us understand what to expect. Once the design was approved, the artists just scheduled their trip and painted everything in a couple of days. So yeah, even if you’re abroad, the whole idea-to-reality process is totally realistic.

Just dropping by because the topic title caught my eye. Can’t say I have much experience with murals myself, but I always find it interesting how different creative fields handle long-distance communication. Sometimes even small home projects can take forever because of unclear expectations, and sometimes big artistic jobs go incredibly smoothly when people are on the same wavelength. Anyway, cool to see how much variety there is in how people bring art into their spaces.
