I have two cats, and two dogs.
I don't see how anyone can say dogs are more loyal than cats. Cats don't show it the same way, but I feel as if they are equally loyal.
Think about going on vacation: My dogs are so excited when I come home, but it only lasts 30 minutes or so.
My cats, on the other hand seem to have a much more complex reaction. They first display relief, and later they seem to purposefully give me the cold shoulder for leaving them. This can last days or even weeks.
Their reaction is quite dramatic and amusing, but it shows deeper attachment than most people see regularly.
Their almost human reactions to stress is why I'm a cat person.
