Off-Topic / Have you ever seen a liger?
« on: February 10, 2012, 08:22:14 am »Message ID: 488449
I have just seen pictures of them.  They are a cross between a tiger and a lion.  The baby ones are so cute.

Off-Topic / Who lives in Minnesota or is from here?
« on: February 09, 2012, 11:13:15 am »Message ID: 487925
I live in a suburg just south of St.Paul.  I have lived here for about ten years.  Before that I lived in a suburb just north of Minneapolis.

Off-Topic / Are you honest when doing surveys?

I am, and I guess that may be one reason why I keep getting dumped or not qualifying for them.

Off-Topic / Tons of books out there, all different titles
« on: February 05, 2012, 12:15:30 pm »Message ID: 486021
I have loads of printed books and have been ordering a lot of free books for my kindle fire.  I have noticed that there are so many different titles.  I wonder how they come up with new titles all the time.  I think I have only seen a couple of books with the same title.

Off-Topic / Have you ever ridden a horse, a camel, an elephant?
« on: February 04, 2012, 10:03:49 am »Message ID: 485369
In my younger days, we used to do a lot of horseback riding.  I never owned my own horse.  We would go to a ranch outside of town and rent horses and go for hours.  They usually sent a guide with you, but we had been there so many times, they let us go alone.  When I went to camp, we would go on a horseback riding overnight.  That was a lot of fun.

I have never been on an elephant or a camel, but my kids did do a camel ride when we were at a park in Florida.  They enjoyed their experience.

Off-Topic / Wonder if ads will quit after Sunday.
« on: February 02, 2012, 10:34:39 am »Message ID: 484283
I love getting the credit for all of the new ads.  I wonder if they will be finished after the game?  It is an easy way to get credit.  I imagine some of us have about memorized most of them by now.

Off-Topic / What browser do you use?
« on: February 02, 2012, 10:33:00 am »Message ID: 484282
On my desktop I use IE.  One of my sites has problems with it and I have been thinking of installing firefox or something else.   My laptop has safairi and that seems to work quite well.

What do you use, and why do you like it?

Off-Topic / Do you stay away from recipes with lots of ingredients?
« on: February 02, 2012, 10:31:08 am »Message ID: 484281
If I see a recipe that has a long list of ingredients, I usually don't even read it.  I do cook, but like to keep it a bit simple.

Off-Topic / Do you think parents should help kids with their homework?
« on: January 24, 2012, 09:05:29 am »Message ID: 479764
I do not believe a parent should sit with a kid through the whole process of their homework.  They have to think for themselves.  If they get stuck, then a parent can step in and help.  A parent can also check the homework when it is finished.  If it is incomplete, it should be pointed out.  If an answer is wrong, it can also be pointed out to the child and ask them to redo the question.

Off-Topic / Regular mattress, sleep number or waterbed?
« on: January 24, 2012, 08:58:51 am »Message ID: 479763
Which do you have, and do you like it?

I have a sleep number bed and have never really liked it since I got it (a few years ago).  I have never slept on a waterbed, and am not sure I want to do so.  I feel I would not like the sensation of waves or the water.  I would also worry about it springing a leak.

Off-Topic / Blueberry juice.
« on: January 22, 2012, 09:40:38 am »Message ID: 478900
Have you ever tried it?  Ocean Spray has a diet blueberry juuice.  It has a pretty good taste.  It only has five calories per serving.  But, it also only has 5% real blueberry juice.  Don't know if I can count that as one of my fruits/vegetables for the day.

Off-Topic / STOP! Are you sure you want to navigate away from this page?
« on: January 22, 2012, 09:38:46 am »Message ID: 478899
Of course I am sure.  I don't need to stay on a page of ads.

How many times have you accidentally navigated away from a page?  Probably none.

It gets my attention, okay, but not in the right way.

Off-Topic / Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr it is cold!
« on: January 19, 2012, 09:54:12 am »Message ID: 477502
Winter finally hit us here, in Minnesota.   We have had a very mild winter so far.  But, the low temps finally hit us.  It was 15 below 0 this morning, with a windchill of -25.  The sun is shining, so it looks really nice outside.  We just have a dusting of snow on the ground, and that is very unusual for winter.  They say the temp will get up to about 1º above 0.  Think I will put off grocery shopping until tomorrow.  Hope it will be a bit warmer by then.

Are you having a very mild winter, or are you getting socked with the snow and rain?

Off-Topic / Betty White's new t.v. program
« on: January 19, 2012, 09:51:03 am »Message ID: 477501
I think she is one of the best-loved people in show business.  I know I have been a big fan for many years.  I even go back to the time she was on Password and met her future husband, Allen Luden.  Anyway, she has a new program and it is about rocking seniors.  It is like a candid camera, but the seniors are spoofing the younger generation.  I watched the one episode and got a lot of laughs.

Off-Topic / What time do you eat dinner?
« on: January 17, 2012, 11:22:06 am »Message ID: 476639
I eat at an odd time.  I usually have my dinner between two and three in the afternoon.  I may have a snack later in the evening, but it is just some fruit or yogurt or something like that.
