Sorry for my expression but HELL NO! Ford is not better than Honda. What Ford can last 22 years like my Honda Civic? I can tell you as far as American-made cars, the only brand I trust would be Chevrolet. They make really great cars, but those other ones can go somewhere else. They break down on you easily. Something always wrong with them. I'll give credit to the Chevy, they're all on point. Also, I want to add the Jeep as well. They are really good especially they're 4x4 for easy driving through the snow.

I don't think so either. My husband has a 99 Honda Civic and it has never had any problems. I'm not saying Ford is bad since we have a Ford Expedition too, but it's too new to tell if anything is going to go wrong with it. I don't know about Chevy though. It seems like every Chevy we had, had some kind of problems. I guess I'm just a little bitter since the Suburban we had before the Expedition left us stranded halfway across the country when the fuel pump decided to take a crap.

I've had all three....Ford, Chevy, and Honda (Acura).  Ford lasted for exactly 4.5 years, and gave up the ghost.  My little ChevyII was a good little car and rusted out before the engine gave out.  Can't remember how long I had it, but was purchased used from a mechanic, and was a gem.  Honda is still going after 14 years......like brand new.

I bought a new Jeep CJ5 in 1980, and had that 5 years.  Had it paid off for 8 months, when it started having a plethora of problems.  Expensive problems.  Didn't last another 6 months.

Thing is.....now some Honda's are being assembled with different parts here in the US and Canada.  Check the serial number if your going to buy one.  If it starts with a "J", you got a genuine Honda made in Japan with genuine Japanese parts, if not, it's been assembled and had some US parts added.

I've been told that if you buy a Mazda now, you really are buying a Ford because they are using Some US Ford parts to build Mazdas.  Same thing with a Nissan, using Chevy parts made here in the US.  With all the mergers, you should make sure your really buying what it claims it is.

I think all car companies have had their share of lemons at one time or another but i am partial to toyotas.  You can beat them and beat them and they still run well.
