What kind of dog food you feed your dog, there is some complains about the ones that have by products, and uses other ingredients that they said is not good for our dogs.

My dog loves home made food, and we tread her to it once in a while.  If you want to do homemade food do a search onthe best options, my little dog was been picky on the food and i did not know what to do, until I went to do vet, she told me that as long as we did not add to much condiments she could eat the homemade stuff.  So I cook like a pound of ground beef added frozen vegetables and rice, that lasted for a week or so, meanwhile I tried all type of dog foods until the one she liked.  She loves Beneful and I like the fact that they have variety of flavors, so I change the flavor everytime I have to buy a new pack.  When they started doing the wet food I also buy those and feed her once the dry food and once the wet food.  I have not found the need to cook her home made food in a long time.  Of course she is such a pig that she picks anything of the floor or the table if you blink to long.

Each dog is different, and some will eat anything that you put on their plate others like mine will east certain foods, just be patient and see what yours like, ask the pet expert they are grear help

Unless you make your own food at home, you really don't know the quality of your dog's food.  Even then, the quality of human grade food has been rapidly deteriorating in this country the last several years.

Grains aren't a natural part of a dog's diet, yet the majority of commercial foods have them.  More and more dogs seem to be having allergy problems to commercial foods, and grains have been a big culprit in many scenarios.  Many also have a lot of artificial colors, fillers, and preservatives like BHT, BHA, or ethoxyquin.

Some of the better dry dog foods out there are Orijen, Blue Wilderness, Taste of the Wild, Wellness Core, Merrick Before Grain, and Castor and Pollux Organix, just to name a few.  Our dogs are currently on Blue Wilderness and are doing great.  Every eleven bags we rotate products, so our dogs aren't eating the same food constantly.  As of now, Before Grain and maybe Wellness Core will be in the rotation with the Blue Wilderness.

There's no perfect dog food, as each one has pros and cons in regard to protein content, ingredients, etc.  An owner's best bet is finding a kibble in their price range which has good protein levels, minimal grains and fillers, and of which the dog likes and does well on.  It truly can be a trial and error.
