I recently got a call that said they were from the Social Security Administration and that my ss card  had been used fraudulently.  They could help me straighten it out if I would transfer to number 1. When that person answered  he asked me to give him my ssn to make sure they had the right account.  I told him you called me, you tell me.  They hung up on my and I reported it to the police who said that was a scam going around, does well this time of year as people are trying to do taxes.

I hate those scamming phone calls. My husband fell victim once.

Sorry it happen but never give out any information.  If you did not know you had a problem don't tell the caller nothing.

Sorry, you got scammed.  Always check the email address.  I get emails stating my bank account has problems.  I was to click on a URL to correct the problem.  They always have the logo and everything so that it looks legit.

The crooks are getting so clever in ways to scam you out of your money.  Don't trust anyone who calls you out of the blue.  My husband keeps getting calls from "Amazon" wanting to check on a big order that was placed.  His name and number is not on our Amazon account.  I keep reminding him not to give out any information to people who call.
Have a wonderful day!

There is just way too much scamming going on.  It seems like most of it is over the phone.  My husband and I were working with a client when his phone rang.  As business owners, we try to answer most of the calls that come in.

So this goof tells my husband that our utility bill is overdue and that we are going to have our power shut off if we don't pay the bill immediately.  I had just paid the bill and got confirmation that everything was up to date.

My husband asked this guy for his name, which he gave believe it or not. Then we turned around and called our utility company to report him.  As it turns out, he has been reported already.

There are so many scams out there. I personally kept getting calls from Dell computer, but it actually was them and they wanted to me to download something. I did not, I actually called Dell company as I do have a dell computer and eventually the calls stopped. Dell said it was not them. I know I got really nasty with the scam calls and they would hang up. Maybe that idea helped, but Dell did thank me for all the info I was able to give them.

These phone scammers make me sick! I am glad you caught onto them.  A new computer was probably a small price to pay from your experience.
Answered a call supposedly from Comcast who I have been a customer for a long time and they said they needed to fix a security problem I didn't know I had. They had me download a program then got in my computer, locked it up, and threatened me :o but I asked them where they were from the guy said I didn't need to know that SO I HUNG UP and unplugged my computer.  They didn't get any money out of me but I had to get new cards and got a new computer to be on the safe side because my other one was old anyway.  Lesson is don't let anybody get in your computer unless you call for that kind of help. 8)
