strange email

The message line reads- Last Reminder!-You've got cash!
It's supposedly from paypal, but obvious that it isn't. Included within e-mail is a link - www.sandbox.paypal.com-.
It says to go through that link to sign into my account to accept my cashout payment and to add their address in the profile tab under my account to collect money.
I collected my money 3 days before i received this e-mail. After getting this email I checked paypal and the transaction was listed as completed on the day it arrived.
My concern isn't so much with paypal issues, although I did forward it to them, my main concern is that this e-mail obviously wasn't really from paypal, but it stated that I needed to collect my cashout from fusioncash and stated the correct amount. I'm worried that maybe the security of fusioncash has been compromised, how else could they have gotten this info?
Has anyone else received this e-mail? It's really giving me the creeps.

Honeybunch thats a scam, and one member already fell for it...just delete it and move on..FC does not send out notifications thru sites called 'sandbox'...

Well, I thought it was a scam, guess I should have stated that more clearly in op. My concern is that my cashout amount was dead on, where did the scammer get that info? Is FC investigating this scam? I'm thinking maybe I should opt out of having payment go to paypal and choose snail mail instead, I dunno. Thanks for the thread, I missed it somehow.

They could have looked at your banner. For example if this was your first cashout, and it read 0.00 before the payout, then they easily got the amount. Or they could have subtracted the old amount from the new paid amount to figure it out... Just a thought.

i was the one that gotten that email i called paypal and it was a fraudalent email i had to forward it to spoof@paypal.com

Pay Pal also does "virtual debit" card that allows you to buy things online using your pay pal funds without putting in your personal debit information.  Just thought I'd throw that in there :-)

Yup. I have one except mine's not a virtual one, it's an actual Paypal Visa Debit card. And in order to obtain one, you have to hold an account with Paypal for 60 days.
After 60 days, you can get one and you use your funds that's in Paypal to use the card.
I've had mine going on 2 years and it's really awesome.

Yep it is a scam. I almost got scammed once selling on ebay i sent a fake email from paypal asking me to ship the item and then I will recieve payment turns out I called paypal it was a scam

Well, the point with paypal's "virtual" debit card is that it's a new card number every single time you use it, and it's very secure.... So for people who don't like putting their card number into different websites, it would take away that problem...

You guys are puttin out some great info!...some of that stuff i hadnt even thought about...my son has an Account Now card, but he refuses to activate it an threw it in a drawer..lol

Im wondering if the Account Now card  would  still show up as a prepaid/debit card?, cuz more an more gpt sites are sayin no to prepaid, and even no to debit cards these days...i wish like hell i had known about gpt sites before all the fraudulent activity started that caused so many sites to make new rules..

I opened a help ticket awhile back and asked if it was ok to use my account now card since its more like a checking account and my hubby has his check direct deposited weekly the the response I got was "yes you can". So Yep that is what I use and its great for those that dont have the best of credit to get a credit card but want to be able to do the offers and want to be able to have their FC money direct deposited!! But this is just for FC I do not know about the other gpt sites you might want to ask each one just to not get in trouble.

Speaking of STRANGE MAIL..... I just got a check in the mail for $4,250 , from a company that I've never heard of, the logo on the check doesn't match the logo on the letterhead (one is a helicopter company in Tennissee(sp?) and one is a 'mystery shopper' company out of Canada)   I almost took the check to the bank, until I noticed that.  Then I was really bummed

All of those Paypal notices I just send to      spoof@paypal.com    , let them take care of it, and they will.
