License plates

So...one of the fun things I enjoyed doing on car rides/traveling as a kid was trying to see if I
could see a license plate from each state-I think I've come pretty close, and I've
even seen Hawaii and Alaska a couple times.
I think the only ones I was missing were like Oregon and one of the Dakotas...
anyone else have similar experiences? What other activities would
people do to pass the time while on the road?

That was always a fun game to play on road trips. Although I never really saw the Dakota's either...or the Carolina's really
