Paying off debts fast
« on: January 15, 2010, 07:41:33 pm »
Paying off debts has become dreams for many people even more over the last year.  Let's come together with pieces of advice you'd give someone else to pay off their debts:
  • take on an extra job
  • clip coupons
  • live on a cash system

What advice would you give?

Eat more cooked meals instead of fast food
Maybe get rid of cable, keep the internet
Save your coins
Save cans and bottles

I don't have ANY debts!! Of course, I don't have a credit card, and I inherited my house, so I have no rent to pay.. I live on social security, and sites like this, and I always have enough to live on. I don't buy anything I don't really need. I do alright.

Worrying will never change a thing, it will not make you feel better, you will sit and stew in it wasting away, My best advice for debts, is have patience and faith and trust in God for what you need. God makes things happen, I know.

God didn't put food on my table when I was a kid and my parents had no money. We couldn't eat for two weeks.

Keep track of EVERYTHING that you spend your money on.  Go over your services to cut out stuff you do not need.  It can be a real eye opener to see that you are wasting alot of money on stuff you really do not need or would not miss if it went away.  If you really put your mind to it, and cut back you can really save some money or pay down debt.  You just have to be disciplined.  It's really not that hard.  Little things can add up quick, a coffee here a magazine there, it is little, but it makes a difference.  I know of people that take on a part time job, but if you just quit spending the money on the things that the part time job pays for, then you are better off.

one thing i did was when i got my bank statement one month, i highlighted all the times we went out to eat with our debit card and I was shocked.  We had spent like 200.00 a month going thru mcdonalds, burger king and other places. So we started eating at home more often.  another thing u can do is start making coffee at home instead of buying it at the store already prepared.  that adds up over time.(this idea works w/cold drinks too)  just make a glass of something before u leave ur house and then u dont have to stop and spend over a dollar for a drink.  also start an ebay account and start selling stuff that u dont need or use anymore. :dontknow:

we live the good life - travel when we want - buy what we want - think about it - been in every state in us - been to 38 countries - lived in europe - lived in 10 states - how do you ask when we are retired - have no 401k - no inheritance - the how is understand money - you have to learn to do what banks and insurance companies do - USE OTHER PEOPLES MONEY - it's not about profits - it's about leverage - make every penny count - learn to budget - budget your calories - budget your purchases - budget your expenses - budget your life but don't deny your living your life to the fullest - we eat what we want but not more than what we need - we travel to places where we get 9 to 1 for ever us dollar - we buy - buy one get one free - we use fc and other money ideas to extend our resources - yes we are on social security - but along the way we made investments (that's even on a teacher's salary and a freelancer's income) - can you do this - you can if you understand that your thoughts are real - when we got married - we decided we were not going to pay rent - within 2 week we had purchased a duplex - living the life you want is about thinking and acting on those thoughts - IMHO >> In My Humble Opinion - The MUSEUM, Zazzle, deviantART, ArtFire, FineArtAmerica
