I just hit my funny-bone on the desk, let me tell ya it's not funny. it really does hurt!!

maybe because after you have hitten it it feels funny and then you laugh about it ..who knows..lol

I guess they call it that because when someone sees you accidentally hurt yourself, they automatically laugh at you.
