I do not think that anyone would think that somebody could save the world overnight.  I do not get the feeling that Obama is going down at all.  So far, he is doing a good job.  Of course I do not agree with everything he had stood for and I think that some of his priorities are out of order as far as importance goes, but all in all, no major complaints here.

Of course he's not going to.  He's better than the previous idiot in some ways, but he's not what I was hoping for.  He's continuing Bush's illegal, destructive "anti-terror" policies, is blocking all investigations into Bush-era law-breaking, and isn't doing a damn thing about Wall Street.  The healthcare bill is a start at reform, but it was put together with sleazy backroom deals that Candidate Obama swore he would oppose.

On the other hand, I don't see him invading any countries *bleep*-nilly, so that's a plus.

There are very many impatient people across America and in the government that have wanted things to pass for so long that they have become impatient. Unfortunately, the process takes so long, people automatically assume that he is not doing his job correcty,  or fast enough, which really isn't fair to him at all. All of the negative press that I have seen lately have been from politicians trying to capitalize on every little negative situation in the system that he has been apart of, cutting him off before he even gets started with his term of office.

Unfortunately, he took office during the Swine Flu epidemic, and the Hatian and Cuban earthquakes, and that is alot of crap to deal with, especially when he is trying to keep his own country behind him on improving the safety of our nation, healthcare and the economy.

I'm sure it is not an easy job, I just hope that people give him a chance to come into his own while he is in office.......

I think it's just a common maturity factor to believe that patience is key to success. Unless you're superman, you can't 'save the world' overnight. I have a couple difficulties with Obama as well, but he is doing a decent job thus far. I just think the people who believe things should be fixed right now are just impatient gullibles who followed his campaign like fanatics therefore having no grasp on politics. Or reality for that matter.

The man still has 2 years.  A lot can happen in that time.  Although I always had the feeling Obama would be a one term president.

In the early 1900's Dr. Johnson said, "The last bastion of the scoundrel is patriotism."  This was during the term of Teddy Roosevelt and the king of chicany and political games, Senator Lodge.  Sounds like a re-run to me.

I had saved this quote from an article. Just wanted to throw it into the mix-

"As a country, we have become accustomed to using fear and hate in the service of hyper-partisanship. We need to wake up to the fact that demonizing people we disagree with, and indulging in attempts to delegitimize a properly elected president from Day One, hurts us all as a nation. We can do better -- and we deserve better, especially from people who want to lead the nation themselves."

Though it's just a mere opinion, I guess it's a good point. Here's the original source.
