Ramen Noodles!
« on: April 25, 2010, 01:24:40 am »
I was wondering if anyone else here ate the instant stuff...I actually like it a lot. Although I assume that the real stuff is probably caviar compared to this. But I was wondering does everyone have their own special way of cooking it? I can't eat mine without an egg in it. I've tried to eat it when other people cook it for me but I just can't. If I don't cook it my own way it just doesn't taste good to me. Is anyone else like this or is just this a "me thing"?

I use less water, or actually drain most of it out before I add the seasoning packet. It depends on the flavor. Sometimes just a little butter and garlic salt, or grated cheese. Sometimes Soy Sauce. I've never tried adding egg or any meats. I just like the noodles but spiced up a bit.

I use ONE tablespoon of mayanaise when the noodles are cooling - try it, it is great  :)

When I was in the Military and we were in the bush, ramon noodles was a perfect field food. Just a little heat tab to warm it up and  the chow was ready. But ate it cold many times.

I like to add cut bell peppers, ginger, and onions to the pork flavor mix.

I use butter when I cook it and sometimes drip an egg into the boiling water to make pieces of egg like in egg drop soup, or I add sliced carrots.

I also cooked them as directed by the package but I hated them. At least they were cheap and they got me through college. I should have tried different things with ramen noodles. I have ramen noodles in the same category as hot pockets; doesn't taste good but cheap for a college student to buy.

I lived off the noodles for the first year of college.  They are a cheap way of obtaining sustenance and you can add almost anything to them because of the various flavors they come in.  But I definetly don't eat them now.  I guess I would if I were starving and there were nothing else.

They are pretty good.  I like it with all the water drained out, and then I add the seasoning.  I think that it is just too diluted with the water in it.

I lived off of noodles for a month after having tried it for the first time X) But I'm in a nutrition class right now and the instant kind is pretty unhealthy... :( SO MUCH SODIUM!!! So I definitely cut back on eating as much!
