Couldn't this be said for all different countries 'norm-race' though? It is unfortunate, but has it ever been different in another country? I wouldn't say we look at ourselves as superior as we do acknowledge and teach about other races in school, media, etc. Maybe I've been around a melting pot my whole life so I couldn't agree with the article 100%. I'm sure I'm naive as it's different in other areas in the US.

Perhaps in any patriarchal society.....most of our Nations are matriarchal, which most take to mean female dominated, which couldnt be farther from the truth. We just recognize the difference although equal standing of the two genders.

I have been encouraged lately with the higher numbers of Women winning some of the primary elections even if most were republicans(please no Sara Palins or Hillarys.....) and also with the mostly tolerant attitudes of most members here in regards to a persons sexual preference etc.

I think perhaps we do, however, have a little self explorations to do one the why fors of why we can't seem to just ignore some perceived obnoxious or uninteresting posts of fellow members....;0)

You give me just a glimmer of hope for a more tolerant world for our future generations.....thank you :0)
